Located at a short distance from Santa Maria di Leuca, Tricase is a hidden gem of south-east Salento. Its fascinating historical center, rich of memories and architectural treasures, unfolds among suggestive lanes, white houses and stately mansions.
The town is composed of two main areas: Tricase Center and Tricase Port. The latter, the cityās marina, has less than three hundred inhabitants and is located on the Adriatic side of Salento.
Crossed by the coastal road that connects Ponte del Ciolo and Santa Maria di Leuca in the south and Otranto in the north, Tricase Port is an ancient fishing village with a port which dates back to the fifteenth century. This port, with its small coves and inlets accessible only by sea, itās an ideal place for who sought calmness and silence.
But Tricase is more than just a seaside destination. In fact, the city is known for its culinary heritage, with several restaurants and trattorias. Also, throughout the year, plazas and lanes come alive with festivals and religious celebrations, which reflect the rich local folklore.
